10/25/2011: Training on „Lobbying and Advocacy for promotion of the policy and the institutional response to the gender – based violence“was conducted

Within the Joint Programme of the UN’s Agencies for prevention of domestic violence and the support of UN WOMEN under the Project „Strengthening the capacities of the National Network of violence against women and domestic violence“, the Women’s Organization of Municipality of Sveti Nikole organized a three day training on the topic „Advocacy and Lobbying for promotion of the policy and the institutional answer to the gender – based violence“. The training was organized on 19, 20 and 21 October at the Hotel Romantic, Veles.

The objective of the training is to upgrade the knowledge and the skills of the member organizations of the National Network of violence on women and domestic violence regarding the tools which are used in the process of lobbying and advocacy towards a successful running of these processes and preparing changes in the identification of the priority areas.

International experts such as Biljana Brankovich from the Women’s Network against violence on women were lecturers of the Seminar. She held a series of thematic workshops related to the violence on women, with a particular focus on the Convention of the Council of Europe on fight and prevention of violence on women and domestic violence.

The national expert Prof. Stojanka Mircheva gave an overview of the National Legislation and it’s transposition to the regulations of the Convention of the Council of Europe and the EU standards and the local consultant Ms. Lujza Bochova held a presentation on the topic:”Introduction to the techniques and tools for advocacy by the civil society”.

19 representatives of the member organizations of the National Network of violence against women and domestic violence attended the Seminar.
