Participants were already familiar with the problem of gender based violence through educational workshops that were previously organized in more than 15 high schools and universities in five cities in the country.

Though the training program participants increased their theoretical knowledge in the field of violence against women including domestic violence and the consequences from these two negative phenomena’s, abusive relationships, discrimination and gender prejudices and their effects, as well as ways of developing and planning ideas for initiatives to raise awareness for recognition of different forms of violence against women.

The basic idea for organizing the training is to increase the number of young people directly involved in combating violence against women through improving their knowledge for this issue and creating gender sensitive youth, which is the basis for creating a society with zero tolerance for violence against women as well as raising general awareness towards reduction of violence in the future.

This activity is part of the project “Advocating for improved policies/strategies on ending violence against women” supported from UNWOMEN local office in Skopje.
