Regional meeting was held at the premises of the City of Skopje, on 20.04.2018, with mayors and representatives from the municipalities of the Skopje region, the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mila Carovska, and the Executive Director of the National Network to End Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. With this meeting, the process of establishment of a regional package of services for women victims of violence was initiated.
During the pre-election period, the mayors signed a Public Commitment with which they pledged their dedication for the advancement of the protection of women and girls victims of different forms of violence, including domestic violence at local level, and to dedicate a portion of the local budgets for the advancement/establishment of services for victims of violence. .
Besides the mayor of the City of Skopje, Petre Shilegov, mayors who attended the meeting are: mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom, mayor of the Municipality of Kisela Voda, and mayor of the Municipality of Gjorche Petrov, while from the Municipality of Centra, Municipality of Karposh, Municipality of Chair, Municipality of Studenichani and Municipality of Saraj representatives authorized by the mayors were present.
